The fibres have been laboratory proven to be trilobal in shape meaning that when cut horizontally and viewed under an electronic microscope the fibre shape is triangular . This is a common statement but rarely is accurate – Puzzle Dub is completely trilobal. Coupled with its translucent composition , light is refracted thru the material which acts as a prism and refracts at angles providing a sparkling appearance.
Purposely prepared in longer filament ( staple) length, up to 100 – 120mm provides the user with many more options than other dubbing types. The sparkle is certain to be a fish attractor together with the natural fibre movement and translucency or halo effect subsurface as the fly is retrieved thru the water current. Puzzle Dubb is equally suitable for fresh, estuary and salt water flies.
How to use Puzzle Dubb
You will immediately notice how easy Puzzle Dub is to dub and how the sparkle or glint to each of the 24 colours provides life to the fly. For smelt and salt water baitfish simply tie in the tail and create a dubbing loop with Puzzle dub. Wind forward along the hook shank, tie off behind the hook eye or bead. Brush or tease the fibre towards the tail – easy and a quick tie.
